As a young man, a serious accident led Michael Quattrochi to re-evaluate his life. He decided to pursue his true passion: dog training. Despite his parents' initial reservations, Michael's dedication and natural talent led him to an apprenticeship in New York with a respected trainer, Howard Finklestein. He quickly became head trainer, but Michael had his own vision, and soon after, The Educated Puppy was born in Atlanta, Georgia.

Michael's training philosophy was seen as radical at the time. He believed that even very young puppies could be trained, a notion that many breeders and obedience clubs found impossible.
